REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

YSG 1, RTS, & Express Speakers

All speakers who have not completed YSG 1 — chapter students, Express students, or Reason to Speak students — will participate in all 3 speech events: Impromptu, Platform, and Storytelling.

The YSG 1 Package includes all three.

 YSG 1 Package USD $55

 Discounted Pricing: Save $15!

IMPROMPTU: This is responding to questions with limited preparation so requires no preparation! It may be helpful to look over the list of questions and statements that may be posed so you are familiar with them. They can be found on the Speech Events page on the Impromptu Overview.

PLATFORM: A speech on any topic that interests you and is only 5 minutes long. This can be your Hello, My Name Is or Favorite Bible Verse speech - even if it's only partially written. Bring whatever you have and practice it! You can continue to work on it after the tournament.

STORYTELLING: Simply retelling a story that is only 5 minutes long. You can use something as simple as a poem or scripture passage or even read a script taken from a book. Speakers may also bring a speech they prepared previously as a YCC student.
YSG 1 Speakers will NOT participate in Round Table.

YSG 1 speakers will receive written feedback from Student Evaluators.

Student Requirements:

  • Submit Script Submission by deadline
  • Speech Rounds and Showcase
  • Practice in all 3 Pattern A speech events: Impromptu, Platform, and Storytelling.

Young Speakers Guild Award

The highest level of recognition at ICCFS tournaments will be given to eligible Guild Inductees competing at ICCFS tournaments locally, nationally, and internationally.

We want to recognize and award Guild Inductees who are continuing to pursue excellence in communication, grow in leadership training, exhibit Christ-like character, and invest in the lives of those following in their steps.

To be eligible, a Guild Inductee must:

  • be a chapter member in good standing.
  • serve as a Student Evaluator or Student Evaluator in Training at a qualifying ICCFS Tournament.
  • compete in a minimum of 3 speech events, 1 of which must be a Guild level event.

What About Championship Tournament Invitations?

Increasing levels of competition are being offered through online tournaments. Our International Championship will be an online tournament. Invitations will be awarded at both in-person and online tournaments. We desire to equip students for success in our practice environments.

In-Person Tournaments: Because our International Championship is an online tournament, invitations extended at in-person tournaments are conditional and require participation at an online tournament in the same event.

What About the 2nd-Tournament Discount?

The uniqueness of this opportunity makes in-person tournaments ineligible for 2nd-tournament pricing.

An in-person tournament provides an excellent opportunity to practice messages that students are taking into their communities, in front of an in-person audience, developing their communication and consensus-building skills.
